Questions

About Law Firm Management

Is Law Firm Management a separate plan?

Yes. The Law Firms plan brings together accounting, human resources and practice management at one monthly price, with three lawyers included and each extra lawyer billed monthly. The client is a customer in receivables, fees are a sales invoice, and trust money is an entry in the books.

Who counts as a lawyer?

Any user whose card carries a legal role: partner, licensed lawyer, trainee, counsel or paralegal. Every lawyer is also a user of the program.

How is matter confidentiality protected?

A confidential matter — with its hearings, judgments, pleadings, time and expenses — can be read only by the matter team and the system admin, and the barrier sits in the database itself, not the screen.

Does it connect to the justice platform?

There is no automatic connection. Power-of-attorney and case numbers are recorded as issued by the justice platform, and appear on the matter, the calendar and the prints.

How are client trust funds accounted for?

Money a client deposits is not revenue: it comes in by receipt voucher to a «client trust» liability account and leaves by payment voucher from it; each client’s balance is derived from approved vouchers, and nothing beyond the available balance can be paid out.
